Today we will be operating our Classic Whale Watching on our lovely vessel Eldey at 9:00, 13:00 and 17:00 and our just as lovely Hafsúlan at 11:00 and 15:00. Our Premium Whale Watching tour will operate on Þruma I-V at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Premium Whale Watching tour today at 20:00 and classic whale watching tour at 20:30.

Report from Eldey: We started off this morning in the fog and rain but we were still very excited to get out into the bay after the amazing sightings recently. On our way out we saw many puffins flying out to get fish as well as a few juvenile Northern gannets and Northern fulmars. After sailing about an hour we saw a big blow from a humpback whale named Mr Bubbles. This individual was resting a lot at the surface (logging). But we still got to see many fluke dives which was really cool. As we were leaving this whale we spotted a few white beaked dolphins too! This was a pod of about 6/7 individuals including a calf. They jumped a few times and even started to bow ride. It seemed at times like they were probably feeding. At the same time the humpback whale started to become more active, it was also now probably feeding. It came up very randomly and unpredictably. Sometimes, it would fluke dive and other times only arch the back with varying dive times too. We then headed home very happy after a lovely morning.

Report from Hafsulan - Today, despite the fog and light rain, we set out on our whale-watching adventure, our spirits undeterred by the less-than-ideal weather. The misty air added an element of mystery and anticipation to our journey, making every ripple and movement in the water seem like a potential whale sighting. As our boat cut through the gentle waves, we scanned the horizon, eager for any sign of a whale. Then, in the distance, we saw it – a blow of a humpback whale! We took our time to approach, the excitement building with each passing moment. When we finally drew near, the whale came close to us, diving gracefully under our boat and giving us the closest, most awe-inspiring look possible.

Report from Elding : We left the harbour under grey skies this afternoon. As we were progressing in the bay, a light rain strong winds started. One of our passengers spotted a blow in the distance but as we approached, we did not find the animal again. We continued the journey and did not find any more whale or dolphins unfortunately. We decided to hand our passengers complimentary tickets so that they could come back another day and try again.
