After a cancelled morning tour, we sailed into the bay and spotted a small pod of 2-4 playful white-beaked dolphins swimming close and feeding around us. As we continued, fog enveloped us, leading us to an amazing sighting of 3 humpback whales including Neila, Pep, and a mystery companion all calm and coming very close to our boat.

Construction in Viðey complete
Viðey island will reopen this weekend (9-10 Nov 2024) as construction work aimed at enhancing the island's accessibility is now complete. Departures from Skarfabakki pier will be at 13:15, 14:15 og 15:15 as usual. Viðey House Café will be open for business.

Whale Diary
In the morning, we encountered 6 humpback whales, including familiar individuals, with one tail slapping and peduncle throwing. The afternoon started with a helicopter rescue drill, and soon we spotted 3-4 harbour porpoises and then again we found 6 humpback whales, one even performing a peduncle throw close to our boat!

Despite a promising forecast, the cloud cover only grew thicker. Initially, we could see northern lights through our cameras, but we decided to issue complimentary tickets, so our passengers could try their luck again another time.

As the clouds persisted, we issued complimentary tickets for future explorations.. but just as we neared Reykjavik, the clouds parted, revealing the northern lights in a spectacular display, thrilling everyone on board!
