Preview textThis morning we sailed out with some breeze, but calm seas and an orange sunrise poking through. We rather quickly ran into 2 humpback whales, close to Viðey island. We even saw one of them playfully roll on their side a couple times! In the afternoon we again found the 2 humpback whales from this morning, still feeding and showing us their flukes as they dove.

Preview textIt was the first morning tour of the year and we had a beautiful sunrise on one side, and a full moon setting on the other. We soon came upon our favourite pair of humpback whales - we even managed to see tail slaps! In the afternoon, we found the same pair of humpback whales from this morning, still feeding, even lunge feeding a few times and a big peduncle throw!

Preview textIt was a beautiful sunny day, and the sea was flat. We first spotted 2 big blows from humpback whales swimming side-by-side. They were actively feeding, spending just a couple of minutes under the surface and surfacing very unpredictably. We also found about 4 grey seals and the lone common dolphin from the previous day! A very rare sighting for our area!

Preview textWhat a great day! The weather was as good as it can be and the sea was flat as a duckpond. Just a few minutes after we left the harbour we spotted our first animal that turned out to be a rare (in our area) common dolphin! We went on and found our two humpback whales, feeding. As we got closer, we also saw a grey seal and a harbour seal peeking out of the water!

Preview textAs we sailed out of the harbour, a couple of blows were seen in the distance; upon further inspection, we saw it was 2 humpback whales going up and down in the water column. It was Banana and its buddy once again. We approached them carefully, and drifted alongside them. There were also lots of birds around, including northern gannets and juvenile red-throated loons!

Preview textWe set out with strong winds, but quite good sea conditions nonetheless. We searched around a bit, and soon enough, we had found Banana and their friend - our 2 familiar humpback whales. They were cruising around, and so we cruised along with them. Eventually we were rewarded with an incredible peduncle throw, which was the perfect end to our tour today!

Preview textWe sailed passed the islands, where we spotted our the same pair of humpback whales that we've been seeing for the past several weeks. They came super close to the boat a few times and we could see their whole bodies through the water! After cruising around for a bit, the whales were now closer to the shore and had started to log at the surface.

Preview textToday was a windy day but the sun shone between the clouds and we managed to stay in not too choppy waters. We searched around between the islands for a bit until we found our 2 familiar humpback whales again; Banana and their friend were swimming around calmly, going for dives every now and then. We were rewarded with some nice fluke dives.

Preview textIt was windy, but it was a gorgeous, sunny day in the bay! Not too long after sailing out, we spotted 2 humpback whales swimming side by side, one of them was our beloved Banana. They would pop up close to our vessel, and we could hear and see them so well. After a good while with them, with the best encounter, off we went back home, extremely happy!

Preview textWe wet out with strong winds, but just a few minutes outside of the harbour we spotted the blows of 2 humpback whales. Banana and friend were busy feeding, so we got a good look at them. After we spent some time with them, we cruised around the islands and found 2 harbour seals, one was checking us out and the other one resting on the rocks.

Preview textToday was quite windy, but the sun was shining and we soon spotted 2 humpback whales, one of which was our friend Banana. They were swimming around, coming so close we could see every detail on their bodies. We also got several good fluke dives and lots of birds flying around. After cruising around, we went back to our friends one last time before heading home.

Preview textThe weather was a bit rough today with lots of wind and some swell. Fortunately we didn't have to sail too far, before we found a pair of humpback whales. They were feeding and playing around, one of them even rolled over and we could have a look at the underside of their beautiful flukes as they dove. We admired the beautiful skyline of Reykjavik on our way home.

Preview textWe had a bit of wind but the temperature was pretty mild for January! After passing Engey and Viðey islands, we spotted a pair of humpback whales - it was Banana and their new friend. They were feeding so were moving around a lot and keeping us on our toes. One of them even did a full breach out of the water! We also spotted a solo harbour porpoise.

Preview textToday, although the wind was a bit strong, the sun was shining strong and we braved the conditions out on the top deck. We soon spotted 2 humpback whales swimming side by side, between the harbour and Engey island! It was Banana and its friend! We got closer and could hear their blows and see the bumps on their rostrums - such a cool sighting!

Preview textWe started the day by sailing around the islands of Reykjavík where we saw plenty of bird life. We came across 2 grey seals and about an hour into the tour we finally saw a humpback whale! We saw it do a few fluke dives and managed to get a few nice close up views. We were also checked out by a few curious grey seals before sailing back to shore.

Preview textWe had quite strong winds and rain, but the sea conditions were okay. It didn't take us that long before we saw a harbour seal, followed by our friend Banana the humpback whale. We then saw another 2-3 seals, and after quite a sail searching for other wildlife, we returned to Banana and got one final farewell before it was time to head back to the harbour!

Preview textIt was a windy day, but the seas were calm nonetheless. We searched around for a bit and eventually found our first humpback whale. This individual was frantically travelling and likely in the search for food. After a while we found a second humpback whale! It was our resident winter whale Banana, still calmly hanging around in the area as in the last months!

Preview textWe were in for a windy afternoon today, but that didn't stop us from sailing out of the harbour. After passing Engey island, we spotted a blow in the distance - it was our resident humpback whale; Banana! It was feeding and we managed to see it fluke many times. Despite the brisk northerly wind, we ended our tour happy with plenty of hot chocolate in hand!
