Tour at 13:00

This afternoon was absolutely amazing. We headed out towards the area where we had been this morning but all the whales were gone form there so we kept on searching. We heard news of many whales not so faraway from where we were so we headed there and what a show. There were so many Minke Whales all around us surface feeding. They came so quicly up sliding in the surface with the mouth wide open, we just turned the engines off and they were all around us feeding on the sand-eels we saw there in the surface. Few Harbour Porpoises were also around them feeding as well.

Tour at 09:00

This morning we headed out into Faxaflói bay in good weather. This time we sailed more south then usually and while we were sailing far in the distance we spotted huge splashes from breaching White-beaked Dolphins. We kept on sailing towards them and on our way we spotted a Minke Whale while we were looking at this Minke Whale more of them came up further away. They were very busy staying for very long under water but the surfaced several times before each deep dive making it easier for us to approach them before loosing them again. The longer we stayed in this area more and more of them appeared and we had at least up to 10 of them around us. While looking at the Minke Whales we got close to two pods of White-beaked Dolphins. They were swimming there around us, leaping out of the water, breaching and going under the boat. Great ending to a very nice tour.
