We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on a rainy day. There is not much wind but we have warm overalls for everyone on the boat. There could be some movement on the boat tour on Faxabay
Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: Today the wind was weak, which promised an easy sailing. Coming for the North East, it was gently blowing in our back for most of our trip. There was only a little bit of rain to remind us of the cold, but it was barely a sparkles, coming on us regularly enough for us to get used to and forget about it. We enjoyed a calm sailing and search through a large area, backed up with other whales watching vessels to increase our chances of sightings. Unfortunately the excellent spotting conditions made it very clear, there was nothing out in Faxa Bay today. Not many birds were sighted either: a dozen of northern fulmars and 2 razorbills were the highlight of the bird watching. As usual, we swallowed our sadness and offered complimentary tickets for every passengers to come back with us. Let's hope that with the sea conditions improving, we get to see soon some cetaceans !
