✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE | at 9:00 & 13:00

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: After amazing morning we had high expectations but working with wildlife we also understand that animals might already be gone. With Sun above and flat sea ahead we sailed towards fishing boats visible on horizon. It was long way but when we get there we found 4 white-beaked dolphins relaxing on the surface. After taking good look at them we went a bit further where another pod, of around 10 dolphins was resting, those ones were much curious about us and were swimming around our boat. Few minutes after that we were again surrounded by white-beaked dolphins, this time even bigger pod, up to 20. It was dolphinetely a dolphin day so we weren't surprised anymore seeing 4th pod of those animals. All pods of dolphins were friendly and were interacting with us and each encounter was slightly different.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Eldey: I don't even know how to describe this tour. I have worked on the ocean for 9 years now and this was one of those very, very special days that just make me overwhelmed. We sailed out with pure sunshine and incredibly calm sea conditions. We headed extremely far, past the boats fishing for capelin. All we spotted was what seemed to be a black patch moving far in the distance. This patch turned out to be a huge pod of around 500 white-beaked dolphins. They were just everywhere, jumping, bow-riding, feeding, tail slapping, whatever behaviour you can think of. No matter where you looked, you saw dolphins. Surely a once-in-a-lifetime experience that no one will ever forget!

Birds seen today: kittiwake, eider duck, cormorant, black-backed gull, northern fulmar, common guillemot, common shak.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today at 9:00 & 13:00.There could always be some movement out on the bay, so if you are prone to seasickness, we have seasickness tablets free of charge.
