Report from Eldey: The afternoon was lovely but icecold windy. The tour started with the sun in our face and no wind and the beautiful mountains around us covered with snow. The sea was calm and a lot of people were outside enjoying the sun and the fresh November icy air. We went to the area were we found the minke whales in the morning but no luck there.. we waited as long as we could before we started to head back to the harbor. The wind speed did pick up quite a bit during the tour and a cold NE wind was facing us the whole way back but we did not stop looking because we know that the whales do not care if it is windy, cold, sunny or raining. Some passengers were brave to stand outside with me and search for the whales while other stayed inside our cozy sallon. Unfortunately we could not find any whales or dolphins on this tour and therefore we offered all our passengers a complimentary tickets to come again for free in the next two years. Even though we did not see any whales it was a nice day to be outside in our Faxafloi bay.

Report from Eldey: An incredible but icy morning to wake too. The paths and roads were the iciest they have been all season. So everyone was having to walk around carefully not to fall. Our passengers got to us safely and we enjoyed a beautiful scenery as we sailed out to snow capped mountains, the sun rising behind Reykjavik and colourful skies of pinks. We traveled long and far and it was only in the last hour of the tour minke whales popped up. We found at least 3 minke whales but only the last showed itself well to our passengers. We were running late by the time we saw the 3rd minke whale so, we unfortunately could not stay long. Because of this we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come again for free in the next 2 years. It was still a very lovely tour and passengers left with a smile of their faces.

Birds seen today include: Eider ducks, great cormorants, common guillemots, glaoucous gulls, kittiwakes, snow buntings.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There can always be some movement on the sea, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available.
