Report from Eldey: What a night - northern lights on demand! It was a slightly cloudy night as we sailed out from the Old Harbour. We could see stars peeking through, even Jupiter and some shooting stars up in the sky. Only 20 minutes into the tour, we suddendly spotted green lights glooming through the clouds over the mountain Akrafjall ! Northern lights were starting already! They stayed bright for a long time, perfect for us to take photos. The northern lights must have been very strong since we could easily see them with the naked eye even through the clouds. As we simply stayed in the shelter of Mt Esja, we were staying under a star filled sky, no wind and a wonderfully calm atmosphere.
