NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: As everyone walked onto the ship we were all in high spirits due to the very promising clear skies forecast. It was a low activity level but enough to be able to see the northern lights are this particular location. We were surprised to feel long and high swell as we sailed away from the harbour but after a few minutes we found shelter behind the nearby islands and only felt the swell again as we sailed home. The forecast did not do as it stated and it stayed very cloudy throughout the tour, not even a star could be seen. Alas it was still a nice night to view the Capital city of Reykjavik all light up and others enjoyed a nice chat amongst friends in the warmth of the saloons with a beer, wine or hot chocolate in hand. The aurora have been very shy lately either in activity or hidden behind the clouds. Let’s hope they become bolder soon so the determined, patient passengers can enjoy them. On the 4th night in a row we offered our passengers complimentary tickets which can be used anytime in the next two years.
