NORTHERN LIGHT CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: We were expecting a kp index on 2 tonight, with some clouds but also clear sky. After the strong winds of passed days we were also expecting a bit of rough seas but it was actually quite calm and we find good shelter behind Videy. When we left the harbour a lot of snow felt on us, but many passengers stayed out covered in our warm overalls. Even covered in snow we were trying to see if there was some visible stars. After 30 minutes the moon started being brighter and we started seeing the sky. In a minute we had a perfectly clear sky and a minute more only was necessary to see the northern lights above our heads across the sky. The lights were not very strong but clearly visible, maybe a bit faded because of the strong moon. They changed during the night getting sometimes stronger then fading then coming back, shaped as an arch then as two, three, until five or six simultaneous arches. At some point during the way back we could see some purple colours under a green arch and the northern lights were dancing a bit. A beautiful night !
