Report from Eldey: Wonderful night, with perfect conditions for northern lights observations. With a Kp index of 4, no clouds, no moon, calm seas and winds, our hopes were very high. And there they were: right as we sailed out of the harbor, the northern light painted a streak of green from the mountain of Esja all the way to Reykjavik, passing above our heads. The lights were moving around a lot, and getting continuously stronger and dimmer. They gradually moved north, passing from hovering over Esja to hovering over Akrafjall, forming twirling clouds of green. As they got weaker, we decided to set our course to Viday island, where the Imagine Peace Tower is located. We then had the chance to admire it from up close, and to talk about its history and conception.
