Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report From Eldey: We sailed out from the harbor in a crispy cold afternoon, the sun was shining and there was some northeast wind coming from the mount Esjan. We were enjoying the snowy landscape of the surrounding mountains when we sighted a blow in the distance. As we came closer to the area, we discovered it was the humpback whale that has been hanging around lately. The animal, named Flak by the team, was feeding in the area, only taking 5 minutes dives at a time. We could have a great look at him every time he was surfacing, including a view of the fluke as it was going for longer dives. After a good 45 minutes with the whale, we decided to give him a break and continue our search elsewhere. We went after a couple of flocks of active birds that we spotted from the distance, however no other marine mammals where around. The was back to Reykjavík was wonderful as we got the wind on our back and we could see the sunset over the city.
