Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 9:00 and 13:00 Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed into Faxa floi today on a very calm sea and grey skies. Lots of seabirds and big flocks of birds were a good sign. After about an hour of sailing, we saw a fin on our right hand side. We turned to investigate and saw it was a minke whale! This was the first one of the year, we then saw two more in the distance but stayed with the one that was coming up close to the boat. It's exciting to see the minkes are back! We stayed with them for a bit and then later continued further out to see if we could see more species. We saw one more minke whale, making our total for the tour 4! We then headed back to harbour, eager to see what the afternoon would hold.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: Today we sailed in the direction of Hafnarfjordur with the sun peaking out between the clouds. The sea was really calm and we could sea almost the end of the snæfellsnes peninsula. After a very lovely boat ride we eventually arrived close to Hafnarfjordur and there it was our first Humpback whale of the day. Did some fluke dives and at one point came really close to the boat, less than 20 meters. Everyone took a lot of photos and spent a very good time with this individual. After some time we started to sail back to Reykjavik after a very nice whale watching trip.
