Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00  Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: The sun wasn´t up yet and we had Flak the resident humpback whale very close to the shore of Videy island! It was resting probably after a good night out in the bay so it kept on being very slow and doing arched back dives every so often. We left Flak do it´s thing and went on to try to see other species around the area. With the sun so low in the horizon we can see blows quite easily and that´s what we spotted! A minke whale that came very close to the boat and kept on swimming towards the land. It was very fast moving and we lost it after 10 minutes of seeing this cetacean. We then got back to Flak before heading back to the harbour.

Report from Eldey: Moments after leaving the harbour we saw a big black back arch in front of Videy. It was Flak! The humpback whale was still here. After his restful morning he was a bit more active. He came very close to the boat many times giving everyone an incredible look. We then decided to venture off and explore other areas. We headed into the very strong wind. It was very impressive nobody lost a hat! As we reached the foot of Mt Esja we found 2 very active minke whales. Again, they came very close many times whilst probably feeding. It was very cool and due to the waves being big when they surfaced we could see their very pointy rostrum's pointing right up to the sky. We then headed back to find Flak. On our way we found a lone harbour porpoise. This porpoise surfaced lots of times making it really easy to see which was great. After seeing Flak again we then saw a 3rd minke to round off an excellent tour.
