CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: After a few days of strong winds, conditions were good in the bay. Very gentle wind and almost no white caps on the sea. There was still some swell making the boat a bit rocky in the furthest areas. We started going towards the south, followed by many northern fulmars smoothly gliding close to our boat and the water. We went quite far until another boat towards the north of the bay saw a blow. We went there and could see a humpback whale! We took our time to approach the animal that was going for quick dives until we managed to have it on our right side. We were observing this majestic creature when a 2nd humpback whale, maybe jealous of our lack of attention for them, decided to breach 3 or 4 times! It was from quite far and stopped being active quickly so we stayed with the humpback that we had on our side. We were going to leave when our humpback gave a gentle tail slap and then a fluke dive. Great end to the sighting.
