CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: Today on this spring morning we set sail, the sea was calm and the sky was grey. This usually makes for easy spotting conditions. We sailed for a bit, with Northern fulmars keeping us company! After about an hour of sailing we spotted a minke whale! This minke was a bit on the elusive side, it came up a few times but then continued on its journey. We did manage to have a nice view of it but then decided to head further out. When we did we encountered so much snow! It was very beautiful to see but did of course make it more difficult to spot some cetaceans. We sailed further, keeping our eye on the horizons however with no more luck. In the end, even though we did see the minke, we decided to hand out complimentary tickets so that everyone can try their luck on another day!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we sailed back into our snowy adventure. The sky and sea blended together into snowy wall, it was magical to see, though it did not help out visibility. As we sailed we were joined by Northern fulmars that were using the drag of our boat to lift themselves higher, often coming quite close! We spotted 2-4 harbour porpoises, these were quite cute but quite shy so we sailed back to our usual spots but unfortunately had no luck with finding any bigger cetaceans. The chop had picked up a little from the morning tour, so there were a few pale faces on board. We continued on our adventure, still hoping to find some whales or dolphins. We kept our eyes peeled on the horizon, however this time weren't lucky. In the end we handed out complimentary tickets, this way everyone can try again another day!
