Report from Eldey: The wind blew from the south-east as we went out to the bay on this overcast but dry morning. After some time we spotted big blows on the horizon. We set course towards them and while on our way to get closer the humpback whale breached two times and then rolled at the surface slapping his massive pectoral fins on the water. A spectacular sight even from a distance. As we got closer the whale went down with a fluke dive and so we waited for it to come back to the surface. Two feeding minke whales appeared close to our boat and showed that we were in the right spot. The humpback whale then surfaced mere meters away from our boat and we got a great impression of its size. We spend some time with the animals before we wet back to the harbour.
