CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: The wind blew from the south-east as we went out to the bay on this overcast but dry morning. After some time we spotted big blows on the horizon. We set course towards them and while on our way to get closer the humpback whale breached two times and then rolled at the surface slapping his massive pectoral fins on the water. A spectacular sight even from a distance. As we got closer the whale went down with a fluke dive and so we waited for it to come back to the surface. Two feeding minke whales appeared close to our boat and showed that we were in the right spot. The humpback whale then surfaced mere meters away from our boat and we got a great impression of its size. We spend some time with the animals before we went back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: The tour started with 2 minke whales right outside of the harbor. The animals circled out boat probably searching for food in the area. Before we went out further, we spend a few minutes observing these fast and elegant whales. We continued our tour and surprisingly a small pod of 5 harbor porpoises appeared right close to us. Further out at sea we were greeted by the massive splash of a humpback slapping his pectoral fins on the water. We went closer and found out that it were in fact 2 humpback whales in the area. Unfortunately they were not in the mood to stay with us and diving for long lines, so we continued our search just to be cut short by another minke whale that surfaced right in front of our boat. In our way back we were able to spot some puffins flying and beating its tiny wings. It was a great tour full of marine life!
