Report from Eldey : Today Reykjavik woke up with wind coming from the south and outside in Faxafloi bay we found a swell. But even though the conditions were fine enough to sail out. We headed north as always, reaching the area, looking for some marine life at the surface of the water. Close to Grotta lighthouse we spotted a blow of a humpback whale. Our emotions rose up, however the behavior of this individual was totally elusive with our boat, spending a lot of time under the water. After trying for a while we decided to abandon the area and continue sailing. At some point the sea conditions didn´t allow us to continue more to North. Always keeping our passengers’ safety in mind, we decided to change direction to the South. In our way we managed to see a lot of see birds, and among them our beloved puffins. When we arrived close to the coast, we saw between Engey and Videy , a minke whale. This time, the whale surfaced more often but at quite a distance, making it very challenging to capture good videos or photos. So today, the conditions were not ideal for our passengers, and they weren't able to fully enjoy the two whales we spotted at a distance. At the end of our tour, we offered complimentary tickets to all of our passengers, giving them the opportunity to join us for another tour.
