Report from Eldey: What a wonderful morning! Today the bay woke up to a sunny and shining day. With just a little bit of wind coming from the northwest, we had perfect sea conditions to sail out. The search for cetaceans began, and thanks to the clear visibility at the surface, we were able to spot our first blow in the distance. In the area, we observed 3 humpback whales and 2 minke whales. We also saw a lot of seabird activity, which is a good indicator of food in the area, fish! After spending some time there, we noticed many splashes on the surface in the distance. As we approached, we discovered a pod of 20 white beaked dolphins, very active and coming close to our boat. During the whole tour, we also saw many puffins on the water. These cuties are everywhere now! With very happy passengers, we headed back, taking advantage of the vitamin D on our way home.

Report from Eldey: The weather was nice and sunny as we went out onto the bay. We spotted the first blows on the horizon far away and as we got closer we saw that it were around 4 humpback whales in the area. We decided to stay with the one closest to us. We had to wait for some minutes until it came to the surface again but then got rewarded with a nice fluke dive. As the whales seemed to spend long times under water, we tried to get closer to another one that surfaced a bit further away. All together the whales seemed to be in a bit of a shy mood today as they kept their distance to the boat. We respected that and observed from further away. Also we enjoyed lots of Atlantic puffins appearing in front of our boat and demonstrating their amazing surface scooting skills. These little guys never get boring!
