Today's Whale Watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule. Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!
CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: Our whale-watchng tour departed on time, with a light breeze and smooth seas. The conditions were great for searching for wildlife, and we soon found a group of three harbour porpoises, who were very shy and quickly swam away. But, after putting some distance from Reykjavík, we sighted two humpback whales. The humpback whales remained only a few hundred meters away, always surprising us when they would surface back from their dives. After enjoying their company for a while, we returned to Reykjavík, happy to have seen these two giants.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We were off for an adventure on this sunny afternoon. There was a lot of bird activity in the bay and we saw many different species on our way out in the bay. Bird activity is a good sign for whale watching and soon we spotted our first blow in the distance. It was a humpback whale! This individual seemed unbothered by our presence, resting just below the surface. With the sun on our back we even saw some rainbow blows or rainblows, if you will. It did a nice fluke dive and we were able to identify this whale as Chopper! We spend some time with this regular and then spotted another humpback whale in the distance. Not wanting to overcrowd this animal, we had some nice looks from a distance and then had to turn back to Reykjavik. A beautiful afternoon with this gentle giants!
