CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: As we were heading out this morning, we had practically no wind, which made for a pleasant time at sea. We were not just lucky with the weather today, but also with the sightings. After a little bit of cruising, we found a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins! As we got closer, the dolphins started to be quite aerially active. We saw two of them non-stop jumping for a good moment! After this very fun and impressive encounter, we carried on. Shortly after, we found a humpback whale! We observed a few surface sequences and everyone was very impressed by this whale's fluke-display. After we moved on from this encounter, we even managed to find a third species of cetacean, a minke whale! This minke whale was very nice to observe and we got to see it a bunch of times before it was time to start heading back to port. We had a great time at sea!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 11:00
Report from Hafsulan: For our 11 AM tour we sailed out under overcast skies on very calm waters, wonderful conditions for spotting whales as we had great visibility with minimal glare on the sea surface. After sailing for about 40 minutes of sailing and learning about the species we might spot in the bay, a tall big blow appeared in the distance ahead! As we slowly approached with excitement, we discovered that it was a humpback whale. We stayed with this individual for a while and could watch it go for some beautiful long fluke dives. The whale was very calm and spent quite a lot of time underwater when diving, so after some time here we decided to leave it be on its peaceful travel to discover what else Faxaflói had to offer. After some more time sailing, a few other blows appeared ahead. We ended up in a dream location! We had another humpback whale fluke diving on our port-side, a pod of 10 white beaked dolphins travelling on our starboard side, and 2 minke whales that appeared in the distance in front of us. It was hard to decide where to look! The dolphins approached the boat, travelling under us and popping up side to side. We admired as we got to see these sweet, quite large dolphins very u close and personal. On our return we stopped one more time to watch the same humpback whale we discovered from before. Again, we were lucky to see it fluke dive a few times before it was time for us to head back to the harbour again. On our return, we spotted some more minke whales travelling in the distance, and got to learn more about the history and landscape of Faxaflói bay. What a wonderful tour!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: Despite the clouds and a few drops of rain the weather was still warm and gentle this afternoon. Again we found a bay full of wildlife as we spotted at least 6 minke whales all over the place. a few of them even feeding right besides our boat! We also saw 2 Humpback whales; Both busy feeding as well. One of them was going on many brief dives, while the other took slightly longer but both of them treated us to many beautiful flukes! As a surprising ender we also found a pod of 8 white-beaked dolphins! They were travelling fairly leasurely and so we spent the remaining minutes of our tour travelling alongside until we finally had to call it a day and return home again.
