Report from Eldey: This morning we ventured out under cloudy skies on adventurous seas, ready to find out what was swimming around in the bay today. On our way out, we learned more about the species that are regular visitors in our waters, and spotted plenty of Atlantic puffins, flying at super-speed on feeding missions, to and from the breeding islands close to Reykjavik. After about 45 minutes of sailing, we entered an area full of gathering seabirds. There were plunge diving Northern gannets, Northern fulmars, more puffins, and even three great skuas! Suddenly we discovered that it was just not seabirds around, but also a lively pod of 8 white beaked dolphins that surfaced just next to us. We were lucky, as this pod stayed around for quite some time, popping up from left to right, and even bow riding at one point, giving us a great chance to watch these dolphins very up close. On our journey back, we saw more puffins, and admired the breeding islands from afar as we approached the city again.

Report from Hafsulan: We started our day cruising out from Reykjavik port passing between the tow main breading islands of Atlantic puffins. Engay and Akurey, home for thousand puffins that we followed towards the open waters. We learned many stories of them and found Northen gannets, fulmars ,razor bills and other birds around. We dint had any sightings of cetaceans and even we had a wonderful tour this didn´t reached the standard of our company. So we offered complimentary tickets to every passenger so we have the chance to see again whales ether in Reykjavik or to our other base in the north side of the island Akureyri.
