Report from Eldey: We headed out under cloudy skies, hoping for a good day on the water. Our first wildlife encounter was a brief sighting of a minke whale. In the same area, we also spotted a harbour porpoise, which was a lovely bonus. After spending some more time searching, we came across a pod of five white-beaked dolphins. Several of them came in close to the boat, giving everyone a fantastic view and plenty of time to admire them. Just as we were making our way back towards the harbour, we were treated to one final highlight. We found three humpback whales travelling together, providing a spectacular end to an unforgettable trip.

Report from Hafsulan: We had another foggy day today, with only a few hundred meters of visibility, giving Faxa bay a mysterious and magic look. Even though it was foggy, we found whales surprisingly fast, as only 20 minutes after departing the harbour we encountered three humpback whales. The whales were calm and resting in our presence, and after observing them for a while, we moved on deeper into the bay. Despite a lot of search effort, by crew and passengers, we couldn't find no more sightings and started heading back towards Reykjavík. However, before returning to harbour, we found the same humbpack whales from before, although one of them had left the group. We stopped and appreciated these two magnificent whales for a bit more, as they continued resting, likely even sleeping, in our presence. We then returned back home, happy to know that the whales in Faxaflói were having a calm, chill morning which provided them the conditions to rest in-between their hunts.

Report from Hafsulan: In a foggy Faxaflói we found lots of cetaceans today. The tour started with some Atlantic puffins accompanying us out into the bay, where we found a traveling humpback whale. While we were watching the whale, a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins was swimming in the distance, but we decided to stay with the humpback a little bit longer. During our search for the dolphins later on, we found a second humpback whale who eventually joined the first, and we watched as they both lifted their fluke right next to our boat before we continued to look for the dolphins. It didn´t take long to find them again, and this time there were around 8 individuals in the pod. They were swimming fast but changing their direction a lot - sometimes swimming away, other times coming right towards us! After a great time with the dolphins we made one more stop with the same two humpback whales from before, and then we headed back to Reykjavík.

Report from Eldey: This afternoon, we sailed out under some drizzle and fog with a bit of swell still on the sea. After about 20 minutes, we spotted a humpback whale, enjoying several fluke dives before it surprised us with a spectacular breach and a pectoral fin slap! We then had two quick sightings of minke whales and a brief encounter with three white-beaked dolphins. Before returning to the harbour, we were lucky enough to find the humpback again for one last look, ending the tour on a high note.

Report from Eldey - We headed out into the fog, unsure of what the afternoon would bring. After some searching, we spotted our first minke whale. It was a brief encounter, as we only saw it surface twice before it disappeared beneath the water We continued our search and were rewarded with another minke whale. This one gave us a much better viewing, surfacing multiple times and allowing everyone to enjoy a longer encounter. Towards the end of the trip, we found a humpback whale. It was also travelling, so we only saw it surface twice. However, one of those surfacings was incredibly close to the boat, making for a memorable finish to our time on the water.

Report from Eldey : We sailed out from Reykjavik port under cloudy skies and calm seas. It didn't took long until we had our first sighting not far from Grotta lighthouse. A humpback whale that was actively lounge feeding close to our boat. A breath taking experience that lasted for long time. Another blow took our attention and we when to check another humpback whale that was close by less than a mile away. Soon after some splashes got our attention in the distance and we went to investigate. It was a pot of seven white beaked dolphins that were really playful. Jumping and coming close to the bow of the boat to surf with the waves of our boat. Unforgettable experience made as come back to port with nice memories from our tour.
