Report from Eldey: It was a bit of a rough day out on the water, with some waves making the sailing a little more challenging. After spending some time out at sea, we decided to head further into the Hvalfjörður (whalefjord), where the conditions were a little calmer. As we were making our way through the fjord, we spotted a minke whale! We were lucky enough to see this individual a few times as it surfaced around the boat.It was a juvenile individual that allowed us to enjoy its presence.And then surprisly another minke a short distance away, surfacing a few times before dissapearing.After enjoying this two individual, it was time to continue our journey back towards the harbour. Despite the rough conditions, it was a lovely experience to spend some time in the peaceful surroundings of the fjord.

Report from Eldey: In the afternoon, it was still veeeeeery windy in the afternoon, but the sun was out. That's always great! We headed towards the Whalefjord again, and found a minke whale nearby. It was super close to us and we got to see a very nice surface sequence with visible blows! Wowsies! Then, it disappeared. We carried on and had 3 harbour porpoises zooming past us. Then, they also disappeared. We kept searching, but found nothing but Northern fulmars. While the cetacean encounters we got to see were great, they were very brief. For this reason, we offered our passengers complimentary tickets, so they can try their luck again and have a bit more of a look at our incredible wildlife out there.
