Today's whale watching tour at 09:00 and 13:00 from Reykjavík are on schedule! The afternoon tour is currently pending. A decision will be made later today.

Report from Eldey: The bay woke up to a chilly but sunny morning! We could even catch our first glimpse of snow on the mountains. The sea was beautifully calm, with amazing visibility perfect conditions for searching for our beloved cetaceans at the surface. We headed north, and after a while, we spotted our first splashes at the surface (after a very sneaky minke whale only seen by some of us for a brief moment as it sped away). A calm pod of 7–8 white-beaked dolphins appeared, and they were incredibly curious! They approached the front of the boat, passed underneath us, and even explored the back of the vessel. With the dolphins coming so close, we could even recognize a 2-3 babies, who were always popping up alongside their mothers. The juveniles also showed off a bit, leaping, breaching and racing alongside the boat. Later, we continued our journey and spotted our first blow. A solitary humpback whale, a juvenile that was spending quite a long time underwater between surfaces. But then, out of nowhere, a huge splash appeared about a mile away! We headed in that direction, and when we arrived we saw one, two... and then three blows! Three humpback whales were together, very calm at the surface and showing us their beautiful flukes. Later only two showed up, but back again the three of them they were logging for a bit. In our way back we managed to spot many (around 15) harbour porpoises swimming in a very calm and shinny water. A perfect way to return home!
