Tour at 13:00

Again we sailed out from Hafnafjörður. Today the weather was really good, we had beautiful surroundings with fresh snow and the sea was really calm. Just a few minutes after leaving the harbour we spotted the blow of a Humpback Whale. While sailing towards him/her we also found a second Humpback Whale a bit further away. Both of them were no strangers to us, beside seeing them for the last four days, one of them was encountered in Faxaflói Bay June 2008 and July 2009. The other Humback was seen in Husavík between July 29 and August 3 2011. Both of them came really close to the Boat, one was even under the Boat and came up to the surface just 2 Meters in front of us! But they did not only spend a long time with us, they furthermore showed us a lot of different behaviours, such as resting, rolling and lunge feeding. Once it really felt like one of them was interacting with the Boat, when he rolled very close to us. Again an amazing day with the Whales near Hafnafjörður, even though we unfortunately didn't have the Orcas today.
