The wind had picked up a little on this tour and the whales were a lot further out than previous tours. However, we found them. We saw at least 1 Minke Whale on this tour but maybe two but they stayed quite a distance away. Then we had Harbour Porpoises which were surfacing fast so we only really got to see the splashes. On the way back to the harbour we got word of a pod of White-beaked Dolphins. Got to see three species but they were all too busy to entertain us but nice to see them nonetheless.

Great Minke Tour. Must have seen at least 5-6 Minke Whales on this tour and one of them even surfaced just 5-10 meters from our boat. Then on our way back to the harbour we found a great pod of Harbour Porpoises that surfaced close and many times. Great Whales, great weather and great people.

AMAZING TOUR!!! We were not even out of the harbour when we met... our first MINKE WHALE INSIDE THE OLD HARBOUR! We were really excited to see one of these beautiful animals just in the middle of downtown Reykjavík. Absolutely incredible. Following the animal for about 45 minutes we could observe it encircling several boiling schools of Mackerel, diving and SURFACE-FEEDING, exposing its beautiful white belly and even the fluke. After we headed further out, it wasn't long until we met Harbour Porpoises. Finally in the whale-watching area in Faxaflói, white-beaked Dolphins crossed our path- a large pod of about 6 of these playful fun creatures. With gorgeous sunshine and warm air, a perfect whale-watching adventure!
