Tour at 13:00
Again we headed out in a sunny but cold weather, the wind had gone down a lot. We started to go to Lundey, but once again there were no puffins to see like this morning. We headed out to Faxaflói bay, spotted one harbour porpoise but it disappeared soon. But we saw more throughout the tour and some of the porpoises came very close only 5-10 meters so we could take a very good look at them. Soon after that we were able to smell a minke whale the nasty breath, but didn't see it right away. In few minutes we were able to spot it, it surfaced many times around us. We saw about 3 other minke whales that we took a good look at, some came very close to the boat, once only 40 meters away. We had a lot of diving gannets all around us and very active bird life. Overall a very good tour.
Tour at 09:00
When we headed out this morning it was very windy, sunny but very cold. We started to check out Akurey to see if there were some puffins but there were none. But we were able to see few out at sea. Than we headed out and saw a lot of birdlife, they were very active and we saw lot of beautiful diving gannets. After searching for while we spotted blow from a minke whale it came pretty close to the boat, but still was very difficult to look at. Only surfaced once before diving again, we found another minke whale soon after that, but he was also pretty difficult to look at. Still a nice tour we had this morning.
Birds seen on todays tours: Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Arctic Skuas, Guillemots, Arctic Terns, Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Eider Ducks and Puffins.
