Tour at 13:00
We headed straight out to Faxaflói to find the whales again. And they were still in the same area, busy feeding so it was quite ease to find them again. This time we spotted 4-6 minke whales and a small group of harbour porpoises. We stayed with them for a while, enjoyed the wild nature in wonderful weather. On the way back we visited the puffin island Akurey and saw some puffins around the island. So again very nice tour.

The weather was nice, calm sea but cloudy when we headed out from Reykjavík. At Lundey colony were very few puffins seen so we headed out to Faxaflói to find the whales. And it was not difficult this time. In one area we spotted at least 10-15 minke whales. They were busy feeding and some of them came very close to our boat (10-30 meters), surfacing many times so we could have a good look at them. The bird live was also very active today, diving gannets and lots of feeding kittiwakes, arctic turns, puffins, fulmars and arctic skua. So all together a very successful tour.
