Tour at 13:00

We had a fantastic tour out in Faxaflói bay this afternoon, the weather stayed the same slightly warmer though than this morning. We headed out and after searching for a little while we spotted a flock of feeding Gannets ahead of us. Around the Gannets we spotted so many Minke Whales all around us, some of them close by and others further away. We saw one of them feeding in the surface it came up to the surface sliding on the side so half of the fluke was sticking out very close to us, so beautiful. Around the Minke Whales and the Gannets that were striking the water again and again we also spotted a pod of Harbour Porpoises. Towards the end we then decided to take a circle around the area to see if we could find any other species and we found another pod of great Harbour Porpoises.

Tour at 09:00

We headed out in great weather, sun was shining, little bit choppy but not to bad. First after we slowed down to search we spotted a pod of Harbour Porpoises. This was a very brief encounter since we soon spotted the first Minke Whale. During the tour we spotted several of them. Most of them were a bit away from us but two of them came pretty close. Birds we spotted during this tour were Gannets, Black-backed- and Lesser Blacked-backed Gulls and some Fulmars.
