Tour at 17:00
The weather was still great this evening, calm sea and evening sun. At first the whales we spotted weren't very approachable. They deep dived a lot and stayed under the surface for a long time. When we sailed further out to a more shallow area we found minke whales that were more "cooperative" ;-) They surfaced frequently in a row with shallow dives in between and we were able to observe quite many individuals. We even got to smell the foul breath of one of the minkes! This tour was a nice combination of whale watching, whale waiting and whale smelling ;-) At the end of the tour when we were getting close to the puffin island we got a nice bonus - two more minke whales, feeding close to land. Very nice evening.

Another wonderful tour! The whales suddenly were quite close to the harbour area and sooner than expected we spotted the first minke whale. From that moment we always spotted several minke whales somewhere. We sailed between the minke whales and stopped always for a short while with each. We stopped counting them but I guess there must have been about ten to fifteen minke whales in the whole area! A very nice and relaxing tour!

Report from Hafsúlan: We still had beautiful weather and very calm sea! The whales stayed further out in the bay this morning, but once we found them we watched three minke whales closer. They all surfaced slowly but it took us some time to get one really close to the boat to the excitement of our passengers. A group of harbour porpoises showed up and disappeared quickly again!
Report from Elding: Very nice and calm sea today! Good searching conditions. First we spotted a couple of shy harbour porpoises; they weren't very approachable so we headed further out on the bay. There we found an area with several minke whales. First they were deep diving a lot and we weren't able to approach them (100-200 m away) but in the end we were able to observe a couple of them of them close to the boat. At one point the captain turned off the engines and we had a very peaceful moment enjoying the silence, only interrupted by the whale's blow :-)
