Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúla: we sailed again from the harbor in Grindavík today. First we sailed west towards a small island called Eldey which is one of the largest northern gannet colony in the world and in that area we passed a good number of these big and magnificent birds. We then sailed further out south before we turned east. The visibility was great and we were able to see Mýrdalsjökull, a glacier on the south part of the country. On the way back we sailed close to land and could enjoy the beautiful landscape of south coast of Reykjanes peninsula. Unfortunately we were not able to see any cetaceans on the tour and for that reason we offered all of our passengers complimentary tickets so they can have a second chance with us to see the amazing mammals of the sea.

Guide: Sigurlaug Sigurðardóttir

Birds seen on today's tour: black-backed gull, herring gull, iceland gull, glaucous gull, northern gannet, northern fulmar,  european shag,  kittiwake, common guillemot and eider duck.
