Tour at 13:00

Report from boats Hafsúlan and Elding: We departed by coach from Reykjavík to Hafnarfjörður due to rough weather, tour will take around 3-4 hours today with transfers. We sailed along the Reykjanes Peninsula gaining shelter from the land and staying in the nice calm seas. Many birds flew past us, including; gannets, fulmars, kittiwakes, eider ducks and many more. The rain was pouring throughout the tour but it was made worth it near the end with the light shining over Reykjavik, the sea became a turqoise colour and a beautiful rainbow framed the mountain Esja. Elding was lucky to come across two small pods of harbour porpoises but other wise nothing was encountered and we gave our passengers complimentary tickets, which are good for another free whale watching tour within the next two years. We really hope these whales will arrive soon and make up for the lack of sightings this winter. Very unusual compared to previous years.
