Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: The weather was suppurb today, extremely cold, the sea freezing as soon as it hit the boat but the skies were blue and you could see all the 120km to Snæfellsjökull, which we haven't been able to see for a very long time. We traveled to the southwest and it was really nice sailing for most the tour it was only when we headed into the wind when we really felt the affects of the wind chill. The lanscape was stunning with a fresh layer of snow and it's always beautiful to see the city of Reykjavik with the snow capped mountains behind. We were out for about two and a half hours and getting disappointed as today we had the optimal spotting conditions and thus we were looking forward to seeing lots. It wasn't until we were coming round the corner of Grótta lighthouse that hafsúlan spotted a pod of 7-8 white-beaked dolphins. As there were three boats we had to approach slowly to try and minimise our disturbance as much as possible whilst showing our passengers these beautiful animals. We got then feeding for a few minutes but then they headed further offshore. We were with then for maybe 15-20 minutes in total and then left them in piece. A wonderful surprise on a beautiful day.

Birds seen on today's tour includes: eider ducks, common guillemots, northern gannets, glaucous gulls, kittiwakes, black-backed gulls, european shags, great cormorants, red breasted mergansers,
