Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The animals we met on our second tour of the day all seemed very preoccupied with feeding. First we saw a pod of Harbour porpoises. They didn't seem boat-shy at all so we stopped the boat and observed them feeding for some time. We then carried on until we saw at least two, possibly three, minke whales. They also appeared to be feeding and changed directions rapidly while some times surfacing close to the boat. When we sailed back we, again, saw a pod of White beaked dolphins for a few seconds before they all disappeared. We then ended back in Reykjavík after a nice day.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Today's Humpback whales were very friendly. We sailed through a big flock of birds before we found the whales. The flock mostly consisted of fulmars and kittiwakes. We were delighted to see a Great Skua amongst the other birds. After admiring the birds for a while we saw a blow further away. When we sailed closer we saw that the blow belonged to one of two humpback whales that were swimming calmly in the seas. They appeared to be a mother and a calf since one was a great deal larger than the other. They seemed a bit curious regarding the boat and stayed close. When we were on our way back a Minke whale joined in. The minke made a brief appearance before we had to sail back to harbour. On our way back we saw a pod of White beaked dolphins, that dissapeared very soon. We then reached Reykjavík after a lovely day in a lively bay.
