Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: The sailing was a little smoother on the way out this afternoon, the swell had dies down but unfortunately the wind was picking up and it became quite blustery on the journey home. Two minke whales were spotted on this tour but it was a challenge to keep track and point the out of our passengers. The first minke whale was seen only once, the second which was first reported by another whale watching vessel was a bit better and surfaced more often but traveling fast so you really had to be looking at the right place at the right time. On the way home we saw a small pod of 4-5 harbour porpoises but as soon as I got on the microphone to let the passengers know, they were gone. Unfortunately, most the passengers were able to see the minke whales at least once but some were unlucky and did´t see them at all. We decided to offer our passengers a complimentary ticket in the hope that they will have better luck next time within the next two years.

Report from Eldey: We were really lucky with weather this morning, low wind speed, flat sea except for a long rolling swell and this made searching for wild life much easier. After only 30 minutes sailing we spotted a minke whale. it seemed to be feeding, constantly changing directions and there for difficult to predict. After getting a good look at the minke whale when it surfaced suddenly within 50 meters from the boat we decided to keep on going in hope to found something else. We found two small pods of white beaked dolphins, only 2-3 individuals in each. it was challenging to follow the dolphins because they spent long time underwater but everyone could get a look. The tour ended with two minke whales in one area but we only got to see them a couple of times before they vanished.
