Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The wind was getting lower and the sea conditions even better but it still rained nearly the whole tour. It took us a little longer time to find animals on this tour but finally we found 3-4 white beaked dolphins. They seemed to be feeding as they spent long time underwater and were constantly changing directions. Sometimes they came up to the surface on high speed forming big splashes. We watched these animals for a while before we kept ongoing in hope to find other animals. We soon found another pod of white beaked dolphins, but this time 5-6 individuals. They seemed more curios about the boat and swam all around us stayed for few minutes near the boat. Then they speeded up and started to travel further out on the bay, we were out of time and had to head back to land. On our way we saw a minke whale surface within 100 meters from the boat but we never saw it again.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: It rained quite a lot this morning but sea conditions were great for spotting animals, the only swell that rocked our boat was a long under swell. After about 50 minutes we spotted our first species of cetaceans, 9-10 harbour porpoises. We followed these small animals for about ten minutes before we lost sights of them. We got a call from another whale watching boat that they had seen dolphins but sadly they had lost them before we got close to the boat. We kept on going and after some time searching we spotted another pod of 4-5 white beaked dolphins. We were able to get a good look the animals when they came close to our boat even though they were a little elusive. When we were about to turn back towards Reykjavík we spotted a minke whale but only few passengers saw it as it only surfaced ones.
