Report from Eldey: Today we went out from Reykjavík in search for cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises). It was some long rolling swells and a cloudy sky with occasional rain showers. We sailed towards southwest scanning the area thoroughly while we traveled. Our first encounter proved to be 2 white-beaked dolphins. We discovered them in front of us and then they went underneath the boat, unluckily that was the only thing we saw of these dolphins because after that they were no where to be seen. We had to continue our sailing. Close to the area Marfló a pod of 5-6 harbour porpoises swam by, resulting in only views of the splashes from when the surfaced. We searched long and good but had to start heading back, on the way 2-3 porpoises were seen again but the cetacean sightings stopped with that. We decided to give out complimentary tickets valid for two years on another whale watching tour with us at Elding.
