Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. We predict a mild wind from the east and a calm sea.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: A crispy cold winter day but with perfect conditions. The sea was calm and the sun was shining. While we sailed out into Faxaflói we could observe the beautiful landscape surrounding us. Mountains, coastline and the whale fjord all in winter plumage. It took a while to locate any sign of wildlife on todays tour but when we did we did not get disappointed. We spotted a humpback whale out in the bay, it was the same humpback we have been seeing for a couple of days. It couldn't have been nicer to us, it surfaced both close and far from us. One time it surfaced within 10 meters from the boat, scaring some passengers that stood the closest! At the end we got to observed some very nice feeding behavior, with lunge feeding out of the water with open mouth, wow! We could return to harbour with some beautiful pictures and memories from this humpback. Join us tomorrow for more whale watching! Over and out!
