Report from Eldey: The nice weather continued in the afternoon and the conditions at sea were perfect. We went again to the south to the area with the humpbacks. When we got there we spotted 2 blows and went for the one closest to us. It was a rather small individual that went for constant deeper dives. We got to see it surface a couple of times but soon decided to head for the other blow that we saw. It proved to be 2 humpback whales feeding together. Both were pretty large individuals and their big flukes came out of the water several times, very majestic to see! It was the same pair of whales as this morning as we recognize the pattern on the underside of the fluke. On our way back we could see 2-3 more humpbacks and we ended with watching one going for a deeper dive waving goodbye with its fluke.

Report from Eldey: A very calm morning with weak winds and a calm sea. This of course gave us excellent spotting conditions. We could see far ahead and the Reykjanes peninsula was beautiful in the sunshine. We scouted towards the south that proved so good yesterday with a lot of humpbacks. We first found a feeding minke whale underneath a flock of birds. Together with the minke was a pod of 6-10 harbour porpoises. We could see both species surfacing around us a couple of times before we head on. Soon the blow from a humpback whale was seen. After that individual we found a pair of humpbacks traveling together and further south another pair! The last pair was two big humpbacks showing their flukes when going for deeper dives, causing some impressed reactions from our passengers! All and all a very good tour with 3 species of cetaceans, nice weather and 6 humpback whales! Good times at the moment out in the bay so make sure to join us!
