Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: It had stopped raining but the wind was even getting stronger so it made it much easier to be able to sail out from Hafnarfjörður in stead of Reykjavík. It took us only 20 minutes until we spotted the first humpback whale! That was because it was breaching! Making big splashes that we could spot from a great distance. It was incredible to watch this animal, when we got closer to the whale it kept tail slapping again and again. This was an unbelievable show. It even breached twice right next to the boat! There was another humpback few hundred meters distance that was equally as energetic. This was a tour of strong winds but amazing behavior from two Humpback whales.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We had strong winds and heavy rain for the whole tour so our overalls came to a good use for us and our passengers. We went again to the area where we have had good sightings the past two weeks. Soon after we arrived we spotted a blow few hundred meters away. This was a humpback whale that we got a pretty good look at. It was sometimes difficult to spot it when it surfaced on our windy side. In this area we also spotted another humpback that was a bit more elusive and a pod of 5-6 harbour porpoises! After we watched these two we went further south and spotted two humpbacks in the same area. they were also a bit elusive so when we spotted a blow from another humpback few hundred meters away. This was probably our best sighting, this individual surfaced more frequently and always raising its fluke high up in the air. We ended our tour in Hafnarfjörður because of the unfavorable weather.
