Report from Eldey: What a tour!It even left myself in awe. It was a beautiful and misterious bay today. We could see most of the landscape around and the different weather conditions in different places in land and at sea. We had a small amount of passengers on this one. 44 to be precise. It also made our trip a bit cozier and relaxed. Almost everyone grabbed an overall and even some of our passengers made use of our warm blankets! whale punches and hot coffee did the rest. It did not take very long until we found splashes not far from Hvalfjordur. A pod of about 10 individuals of white-beaked dolphins was breaching like crazy. People went mental too! so amazing behaviour to witness on a changy day like today. Bear in mind we had to cancel our tour early in the morning due to the rough weather and sea conditions. Besides, the background was perfect for the pictures. Akranes and Akrafjall (the mountain next to Akranes) were especially beautiful today. We also saw another pod with about other 10 breaching as well. Everyone got a really good look at them indeed! After about 20 minutes sailing alongside the dolphins and watching some other behaviours as bow-riding, leaping and upside-down breaching (Yes some of the calves and juveniles were very active and playful too) we decided to go a bit further into the unknown in order to find more cetacean species. It did not take long either. We found 3 inviduals of minke whale! even 2 of them were travelling together. After several dives of the two we had to go back home but not without a smile upon our faces. Lovely animals, better audience!!hats off!!

Report from Eldey: What a windy and rainy tour we had this afternoon but the sea conditions were surprisingly comfortable as Capitan Lárus was taking us out in to the Bay. After almost an hour, another whale watching boat spotted a group of white-beaked dolphins. There were only a few hundred meters away from us and we headed over there also soon saw about 5 of these dolphins in front of us. They didn´t make it easy for us, changed their directions a lot but we managed to keep track on them and every now and then they were swimming close to us, surfed around the bow and then dove underneath the boat. We were able to spent some time with them before we decided to head further out to look for something else. After a while, passengers saw something in the back of the boat, therefore, we turned around and slowly went through the area. It turned out to be a sneaky minke whale! Similar to the dolphins,. it took a while to get a better look at it, but then it surfaced only about 100 m away from us and once only about 50 m away so that hopefully everyone got a look at this rather small individual. On out way back we saw another group of 4 white-beaked dolphins and since we had some extra time, we made a circle and also had this pod of dolphins surfacing very close to us before they took off. It was a very rainy tour but the cetaceans made up for it!
