Report from Eldey: After three days of cancelations we had dolphins again on our afternoon tour! Just 20 min after leaving the harbour we came across a group of 3 white-beaked dolphins, Iceland's most common dolphin species. And it gets even better: We were able to identify one of them as a regular called "Sophie". She/he is quite easy to recognize thanks to the big nodge in the top of the dorsal fin. We followed these dolphins for quite a while, sometimes they moved a bit further away but we caught up with them and managed to get closer several times. On our way back to the harbour in the end we also got a quick glimpse at 2-3 harbour porpoises surfacing just 10m from the boat. However, they disappeared very quickly so only the people looking in the right direction at the right time were lucky enough to see them.

Report from Eldey: First try after this past storms that have been hitting the south coast of Iceland recently. The winds were quite calmed by now, although we were experiencing a little of swell every now and then. Unfortunately we didn't manage to see any cetaceans during the tour. We had, though, a pretty remarkable bird encounter, with a black backed gull harassing a glaucus gull, trying (and most likely managing!) to steal its food. A small consolation prize for the patience of our dear costumers. That's why all of them will be able to come back and try better luck, using the complimentary tickets valid for two years that we gave away at the end of the tour!

Bird species seen on today's tours include: northern gannet, northern fulmar, cormorant, common guillemot, glaucous gull, Iceland gull, great black-backed gull and eider duck.
