Report from Eldey: While the winds seemed to have calmed a bit at first, they picked up again about half way through the tour, making it quite cold and breezy. Still it was a nearly cloudless evening, so viewing the landscape was great. Unfortunately, all we got to see of a minke whale today was it's blow and one elusive surface. Although spotting conditions were fine, the whales just didn't want to play along - which is a part of nature and the beauty of seeing these animals in the wild. So of course everyone got a complimentary ticket for another trip with us out into Faxafloi.

Report from Eldey: Despite the bitingly cold wind, our sail today was mostly calm. Upon arrival to our main sighting area we were rewarded by the sight of a minke whale! It was a small one, possibly Texas, the calf that has been in the area recently with its mother, as there was another larger minke about as well. We all managed to get a great look at the minkes as they stuck around us for a while and surfaced next to the boat multiple times. With clear skies and bright sunshine it was a pleasure to be out today (obviously underneath about five layers of clothing to keep the wind out)!

Report from Eldey: A cold and windy morning was waiting for us out in the bay today. Although being a sunny day, the wind was really pushing us out and we had to sail close to the shore almost until Akraness just to get as much shelter as we could. After that we headed out in the bay and we soon spotted a blow, most likely from a minke whale. But unfortunately the wind was creating waves everywhere and we never saw the animal again. While heading back home we spotted a few harbour porpoises, hard to estimate how many since we could only observe the splashes they were creating while riding the waves. Not a lucky tour, so we offered complimentary tickets to our passengers!
