Report from Eldey: Sea conditions were very nice for spotting today. Although there was still swell on the ocean - most likely due to the storm from 2 days ago - winds were calm and the cloudy sky made the water a light grey colour, a good contrast to the body colour of the cetaceans we encounter here. It took us a long time of searching until we came upon our first pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins. Amongst them was a juvenile, which showed us a few jumps. The pod was traveling and mostly continued this behaviour during our encounter, but every few minutes they would turn around and come to the boat. So it was a great mixture of interaction but also seeing the dolphins natural behaviour. After more than 30 minutes with them, time forced us to return to Reykjavik. On our way, we encountered a second pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins, obviously milling. While we did not have enough time to stop for them, we still got a good look as they came close to us. Overall a nice tour with some great dolphins - including an individual that we have known to live in this bay since 2008!

Report from Eldey: What wonderful conditions for sighting today! Unfortunately that didn´t mean that we saw much. The animals were not feeling very friendly today and stayed far away from the whale watching vessels this morning. Our only sighting this morning was a lone harbour porpoise that appeared twice before vanishing again. Magically, because of the great weather and my excellent guiding most people were still happy when collecting their complimentary tickets.
