Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The seas were once again challenging, contary to the weather forecast that was suggesting it would calm a little. Not to far from the city there seemed to be few scattered minke whales, hard to know for sure but we thought maybe 3-4 when discussing with the other whale watching vessels near by. It was many blows and quick glimpses of backs seem from us and the other boats but unfortunately not more than that. We took the chance to head further out but other than an awesome feeding flock of feeding gannets there was not much else to see. We offered our passengers complimentary tickets with the hope they would have better luck with weather and wildlife on their next excursion. Nature is a magical but sometimes difficult thing but that is why it is so fasinating.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Challenging seas today, yesterday must have been the calm before the storm. Spotting conditions were however still good and we were able to catch a few glimpses of two different minke whales, one of which breached (jumped out of the water) about a km in the distance. Afterwards it was tricky to follow but surfaced 5 times more closer to the boat before disappearing. Those up on the outside viewing deck got to see it a few times but those inside didn´t. We left and the crew in the bridge spotted a couple of white- beaked dolphins 2-3 of them, a couple of sightings and they were gone. Lots of gannets in the bay where we were searchng so there still seemed to be plenty of food for everyone. On the way home another minke whale surfaced just 10 meters in front of the boat and surfaced a couple more times before, once again, disappearing. The cetaceans were difficult to show our passengers on this tour so we offered complimentary tickets.
