Status: RUNNING

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The weather did not charge for the whole tour, poured it down but everyone was in great spirits and enjoyed the tour nonetheless. The swell was a little challenging for some and there was a few green faces but eveyones attention moved to the awesome white-beaked dolphins. First we saw maybe 3-4 individuals and then more and more came to socialise with us. Playing under and around the vessel, it is always amazing to see wild animals interact with us and today was no exception. It was so much fun watching them leap and travel along side the boat. On the way home we also encountered another two small pods and all in all we must have seen at least 15 - 20 dolphins, all having a great time. The birdlife was also great with so many differnt species. Unfortunately due to the pouring rain it was hard to photograph it all but fun to watch.

Birds speciesl seen on today´s tour include: common guillemot, eider duck, northern fulmar, black-backed gull, glaucous gull, Iceland gull, black-headed gull, great cormorant, whooper swans, long-tailed ducks.

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. According to the forecast the wind will pick up during the day and the sea at Faxabay will be rough. If you are sensitive to motion sickness we do have seasickness tablets free of charge at the ticket office and all our boats have inside and outside areas and to make the tour even more comfortable we provide warm overalls.
