Tour status: RUNNING

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The bay could not be more perfect. A very cold start to the day but everyone dressed up warmly and made use of the variety of hot drinks available to purchase at the bar. The colours of the scenery were incredible and became more and more vibrant throughout the tour. The sea was flat calm and you could see for miles. Flocks of seabirds were present and so we were very optimistic about the tour. Another whale watching vessel told us a pod of dolphins they found and were on our way and got to stay with a pod of 5-7 white-beaked dolphins that seemed to at first be scattered and quite elusive but soon got to play under and around the boat, then started feeding then just milling. A few harbour porpoises, maybe 2-3 scattered inidividuals popped up now and again too. All it all it was a very beautiful and productive afternoon tour.

Bird species seen on today's tour include: eider ducks, common guillemots, icelandic gulls, glaucous gull, great cormorants, black-headed gulls, greater black-backed gulls.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on a beautiful but cold day. There is little to no wind but if you are sensitive to motion sickness we do have seasickness tablets free of charge at the ticket office. Hope you are able to join us in our search of these magnificent animals.
