Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The wind of yesterday had calmed, leaving a predominantly flat sea, with the only excpetion being one stretch of ocean near the Hvalfjörður. The north easterly wind that remained funnelled through the fjörd, stirring the sea slightly, but did not cause anyone on board any trouble. With this northerly wind came the cold however. We journeyed out reasonably close to land and as we started to approach a well known whale watching area we sighted one white beaked dolphin that surfaced twice before disappearing. We scoured the area in search for the dolphin again with no luck. The trip remained void of cetaceans for some time until we received word that dolphins had been sighted but had since disappeared. We joined the vessel that had spotted the dolphins originally and quickly came across their path once more. The 4-5 dolphins put on a good show for the guests, leaping from the water and swimming within 100m of our vessel. After some time we had to make our way back towards Reykjavik but the passengers left very happy.

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on this cold but beautiful day. There will be some movement in the sea today due to the strong wind the past days, so if you are sensitive to sea sickness we do provide tablets for motion sickness both at our ticket office and on board. We hope you are able to join us today!
