Status 9:00 and 13:00 Tour: RUNNING FROM ANOTHER HARBOUR
Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: Afternoon trip was from Keflavik too. When we started the trip it was snowing in a really nice way, almost perfect for a snowball battle! The weather was constantly changing so we enjoyed the views from Faxafloi being able to see Akrafjal and Esja totally illuminated by the sun while we were surrounded by mist. Sun rays were sneaking through the cloud giving us breath-taking views. Nonetheless, we were searching the area and we couldn't´t find any cetaceans today, despite the bird activity and diversity which was huge. Due to our bad luck, we offered our passengers complimentary tickets so they can repeat another time with us.

Report from Eldey: We got a perfect departure, with calm seas thanks to the shelter from Reykjanes. There was sunshine emerging from the clouds, and with the wind in our back, the temperatures were much softer than anticipated. After sailing North-West all the way to the tip of the peninsula, we turned and went back on our tracks to try our luck to the East. We did spotted some northern gannets flying around and some common guillemots diving down when we got too close, but sadly we didn't find any cetaceans. The higlight of the tour remain a grey seal that popped up in our vicinity. The animal was a bit shy so we didn't secure close sightings, but it's always exciting to catch glimpses of a species that is rare on our tour. We didn't spotted the cetaceans we wanted to see though, and the encounter with the seal was short, so we promptly issued the complimentary tickets that will hopefully allow our guests to see some whales or dolphins on the next try.

We will be sailing out from KEFLAVÍK today at 9:00 and 13:00 due to unfavourable conditions out of Reykjavík. A bus will be ready and waiting for passengers here in the Old Harbour and drive off to Keflavík at the scheduled departure time. After the tour we will return to Reykjavík by bus again. This will result in a longer tour, or between 4-5 hrs. and could impact COMBO tours. Guests that are unable to join the tour because of it's length should contact their travel planner immediately to arrange for a different activity or check for other options provided by them.
